2008 Tsunami Orphans’ Home in Medan, Indonesia
PASTORELLI has assigned the resources set aside for Christmas gifts to the full development and completion of the Tsunami Orphans’ Home in Medan, Indonesia. In this structure 50 children will be able to eat, study and wash themselves every day. The missionary nuns of Assisi Solidale Onlus have been entrusted with the organization and care of the children directly on site, and the Association Carità Senza Confini has been entrusted with overseeing the progress status of the project.
Just 10 months after Christmas 2008, the Tsunami Orphans’ Home in Medan, Indonesia, has been completed and inaugurated. The initial project, paid for with the funds designated for Christmas gifts, has been enhanced with a nursery to host those children who do not have even a hut in which to sleep. Now a good 100 children can attend the day center to eat, study and wash themselves every day.
